God didn’t place us on earth so that we can build our own personal kingdoms. No, He intends for us to make lasting contributions to His Kingdom during our lifetimes. Drawing heavily from Jesus’ parable of the talents (Mt. 25), Bercot shows that building up God’s Kingdom is not optional for Christians. Jesus requires it! Bercot discusses four main types of kingdom ministries: 1. Matt. 25 ministries (feeding the hungry, visiting the sick, etc.). This is the most important kingdom ministry, because it’s the only one that Jesus said would affect our salvation.2. Evangelism and missionary work3. Congregational ministries4. Intercessory prayerBercot goes on to give concrete examples of ways we can build up the Kingdom of God during our time on earth: helping the poor and needy, visiting the sick, witnessing, and furthering the Gospel in other ways. He gives both biblical and present day examples. Whether we’re male or female, young or old, there is some way each of us can win at least one victory for the Kingdom during our time on earth!
