Friends of a Feather

Julia got along better with her pet chickens than she did with her classmates. Sometimes the other children laughed at her, so she often just played by herself. “They don’t like me,” Julia told her dad when he encouraged her to be friendlier at school. But when she agreed to try, nothing seemed to work. Then something terrible happens to one of her feathered friends, and Julia discovers she had good friends after all-people friends.
