Words fail to describe my panic upon finding myself thrown halfway out the front (which had been closed). My arms, which had been holding baby dear mere seconds earlier, were alarmingly empty and my right arm was throbbing. My bonnet and cap were smashed and tossed over my shoulders -Laura Ingalls style. My glasses were bashed but hugging the tip of my nose.
It was pitch dark and having no glasses made it worse. I struggled my foot out my shoe which was firmly caught (somewhere!) and hurried to the horse’s head. Realizing my husband is insensible plunged me into a state of helplessness…
