  A mysterious stranger turns up in Pleasantville, haunting the freight tracks. Someone explodes a shipment of fireworks, burning down the express office and putting the agent in the hospital. His 19 year old son Bart steps into his shoes and does an admirable job of bringing order to the confusion. But a string of shady events take place, involving the town magnate and his wife along with the town’s ne’er do well. Meanwhile, a piece of luggage is stolen from Bart’s office and the young express agent’s career depends on its recovery. Can he track it down? Who is this mysterious stranger?
