Tigre

Once again, Jim Kjelgaard, that master teller of adventure tales, gives to the many admiring boys and girls a story of courage against difficult and unique odds by a vital and real young hero, Pepe. And, of course, there are many animals, both tame and wild, to add excitement, humour and gentleness to the action.
Pepe, the youthful Mexican goatherd, had many battles to fight: ominous superstitions of Uncle Ruize; defending his American friend Sam; but hardest of all, was the fight against the killer tigre, or jaguar, that had attacked and killed Pepe’s father. The animal threatened to destroy the family’s herd of goats, which were their livelihood.
In Mexican wilds, Pepe found that a loyal friend and inner courage may mean more than a costly rifle, even in meeting the vicious fury of a wounded tigre!
