The Anguish of Love

Dear Father! Fifteen-year-old Michael’s thoughts are anguished. Wonderful Father! No one can ever take his place. How can Mother think of marrying again? Father is in heaven, but Michael will always be his son. What are things coming to anyway? Michael’s whole world threatens to collapse around his feet. Other family members are involved, too. Emotions run high with some, and low with others: elation, stress, peace, rebellion. Can two families merge and become one harmonious unit? This question and others are faced, and answers sought for. Oh, Daddy, I just want Mama! Helen gasped between sobs. Her father stroked her hand. Helen, he began, I am sorry this is so hard for you. But Mama is gone, and now we must go on living. It will do no good to dream of the past and wish it would still be that way. We must allow God to place us where He wants us to be, with joy. That the search for God’s will may run counter to our own ideas at times is portrayed in this well-written story for teenagers, showing the conflict that God’s children can experience as they follow His leading in life’s changing circumstances.
