Keeping the Trust

The formation of the Eastern Pennsylvania Mennonite Church in 1968 was part of a broader concern that was rising across the district conferences of the (Old) Mennonite Church. The realization was dawning that time-proven Biblical principles and practices were being abandoned in favor of progressive, worldly innovations. The acceptance of the revised Lancaster Conference Discipline on July 17, 1968 was the immediate cause of the separation and release that followed on September 19, 1968.Many of the brethren who were involved in the formation of our church group have passed on to their reward. But the vision and courage that motivated them to stand for truth at all cost must live on today.
