Like Ruth of old, she left her family, her friends, and her country and agreed to teach school among the Old Colony Mennonites in Mexico. Who are these people? she wonders. How will we communicate?

Learning a new language and a new culture is daunting. Living among strangers is hard. But slowly, communication becomes possible, and these people become her people. Stories emerge, friendships formed, and relationships are built.
