Young Bill Rawls had every reason to suppose that he would never have to worry about money. When Bill decided to run the store, the fate of a whole village rested on his success or failure. How he fought his hard and sometimes dangerous battle makes exciting and absorbing reading. Jim Kjelgaard’s characters are so real that their problems become most important to his readers, just as they do in this fine author’s other popular books.
