Just a Hired Boy (Knecht)

Daniel worked as a hired boy. Starting at the age of 10 until he was 22 he worked for six different farmers. He was gone from his parent’s home six days a week, braving the trials and joys of others’ homes. He learned many different ways of farming. Some were primitive and not always easy or to his liking, but he tried to do the job he was told to do.
