Details

In an attempt to thwart the unwanted consequences of civilized life, Dr. Gates leaves his established plantation on the southwest frontier.
With his motherless children, numerous slaves, cattle, horses, and household items he moves west. He keeps moving until he is far beyond the last man’s cabin. Finally he finds a cove which he deems a suitable place to live the remainder of his days. This is where Gates encounters many hardships. They must always be on the lookout for all things wild, and most of all for the wild Red Men.
But the wildest and most fierce battle that Dr. Gates must fight is not fought with gunpowder and lead. He must fight a wild and fierce internal battle that most of us can perhaps relate to in some way.
Is the battle to forgive our fellow man his transgressions the ultimate test?
