“I am preparing to leave Macedonia in the spring, Mother,” Alexander announced. Queen Olympias looked up from her wine glass with intense interest. “You will be left in charge here. You and Philotus.” Alexander mounted Bucephalus and left the palace grounds. “We’re going to do it, Buci. You and I and our men. We are going to conquer the world. I will sit on every throne! We will find those limitless shores my father told me about.” The horse nickered in response. “Invincible – that’s what the priestess called me!” Through his Jewish childhood nurse, Alexander first learns of the God of heaven. His best slaves are Jehovah worshippers, and his own sister turns from the Greek gods to serve Him. But the dreams so dear to his heart? Would they leave any room for Jehovah? “I believe Alexander did much to prepare the world for the Messiah’s coming,” Levi commented. “Much of it is hidden from our understanding, but if His kingdom is a spiritual one, as I think it will be, then the Greek language may be used to spread the message of redemption.
