The Three Henrys and Mrs. Hornicle

A knock at the door in the middle of the night was the beginning of many adventures for the three Henry Bivens. Mrs. Hornicle, the mine manager’s wife, had arrived to surprise her husband, but the surprise was on her! No one met her at the railroad station and there was no motel. The Bivens family lived by the railroad tracks which carried two of the Henrys to the coal mines every morning. They travelled by handcar, and now Mrs. Hornicle wanted them to take her up to Highcable in the middle of the cold night! The unexpected arrival of Mrs. Hornicle was just the start of changes for the Bivens and their friends. You’ll have to read this true story about bringing God to the mining towns of Highcable and the surrounding area. A great story for children of all ages.
