His mother was a pretty grey circus pony, escaped and running wild on the Wyoming plains; his father a wild roan mustang. Reddy had grace and speed and sense, and a real love for young Jimmie Morton who had a way with animals. Jimmie was only nine the first day he saw Reddy-and the cold was very wild.
